David Ethridge Miller



    David was born June 13, 1834 to John Miller and Sarah Travis.

    He married Sarah Jane Carrell on April 27, 1860. Probably at Camp Floyd Utah. He and Sarah had fourteen children, seven boys and seven girls.

In the 1870 U.S. Census he is listed as a Miner in Jefferson County, Montana. In the 1880 U.S. Census he was listed as a teamster in Bozeman, Gallatin, Montana. During the 1890's and early 1900's he was Justice Of The Peace in Woodville, Jefferson County, Montana. It is also believed that he was a methodist minister while living in Virginia City, Montana.

The last few years of his life were spent in Salmon, Idaho near his daughter Annie. He lived one mile south of the John and Annie Gutzman ranch on the Salmon River.

    He died March 25, 1912. A Salmon newspaper gave his obituary on March 28, 1912.
