Obituary #1:

March 28, 1912
Dave Miller
Word reached town yesterday morning announcing the death of Dave Miller at his home near the Gootsman ranch. Ten miles up the Salmon river. The deceased has been having poor health for sometime, the result of infirmities of age, he being eighty years of age. The deceased has had a remarkable history. It is stated that he was in Alder Gulch during the excitement, when gold was so plentiful that his children used the nuggets for playthings.

DEATH OF DAVID MILLER
David Miller a rancher near 12 Mile died quite suddenly of heart failure at his home about 11:30 Monday night. He had not been well for several days but was sitting up in his bed, when suddenly he gasped and the end came. He was about 80 years old and well known to many in Salmon. Eight years ago he came hither from Butte and lived in town until he moved to the ranch in 1910.
At one time it is said that abundance and plenty were his, but the fate that had once been so kind to him swung to the other side, and of recent years those days of prosperity had become only a cherished memory.
He leaves a widow, seven sons and seven daughters to mourn his loss.
